Being adventurous in online shopping does not go well always!
I placed an order for a cell phone from ebay India seller sankyoelectronics who is from Chennai.

Surprisingly as against claimed by seller that it is a brand new unused item it was a used one without proper packing.
The product received was not in new condition. See pictures
1. Box was not sealed.
2. Company packing was missing in the box
3. All items were packed in old plastic covers with cello tape attached.
4. Phone had a lot of finger prints and marks on the body. I cleaned there was no screen damage.
5. Charger also has marks and repacked. definitely old used charger.
6. The ear phone was also old piece not the one company gives with this model.
7. Clock was already set on the phone. some one had used it earlier.
Product was not in brand new condition as described by seller. It is otherwise working.
I have raised an ebay case for resolution with the seller.

Although seller has 98% positive feedback, recently few people have complained against old / missing items. I went by the positive feedback and took a chance of ordering. It ended up a bad experience. Please be careful dealing with this and similar sellers on ebay.
Update Nov 2012- Based on comments to my post I see that many buyers faced issues with products and quality of service from this seller. Now while browing ebay I just noted that this seller SankyoElectronics is no longer registered on ebay and his ID is deactivated.

Seller cheated - despite his promise that he will ship new accessories like charger and earphone he did not ship. He requested that he has a review with Ebay and his business gets hurt by negative feedback and so his feedback should be changed from negative to positive. I trusted him and changed feedback. After that he stopped responding to my emails and phone calls. Never trust such seller and give them any business.

Worst seller. Adament. I ordered on Friday followed up and he shipped on Saturday. Received in Bangalore today i.e. Tuesday. Talked 3 - 4 times with seller. He is running a shop/business in Chennai of importing such phones from Singapore which he claims some company supplies to him.
He is just there to make money and does not care about customer service. You will be lucky if you get good phone. Looks like his supplier is cheating him but he does not want to believe as he claims only few % of his customers are complaining.

Based on feedback from his ebay buyers. Problem with this seller is that he is getting a lot of phones which are not factory fresh from a company which ships many old phones along with new phones in different conditions. These may be refurbished or display pieces in dealers place or customer returns or excess stock. They also import probably as old pieces buy paying possibly no or less import duty.
I also feel cheated that he asked me to change negative feedback to positive saying that he will ship new accessories - charger and earphone cable. I trusted him and changed feedback. After that despite promise he did not ship and now not replying to my emails also.
i too ordered a sony arc s from them ...i ordered it on 25th june and still now the item has not even shipped... i tried to contact them ...but no response.. called them but not taking the phone... i totally agree to you...ppl dont fall into their trap of low prices.... i am cancelling the transaction

Even Ebay appears to be siding with such sellers. They closed by Ebay case without consulting with me. Seller did not ship accessories as he promised after I trusted him and changed rating from positive. Reason they had given me we have a monthly review meeting with Ebay and negative rating on shipping old product will affect their business adversely. They said change rating and they will ship accessories by evening, I trusted them and changed the rating. So my advise is that never change seller ratings to positive even if they give any reason and request you.

Luckily mobile itself is working fine so far. Only thing it was not a fresh piece. Dirty and without proper packing and was delivered with old accessories.
Very bad experience form this seller. He changed the delivery status to shipped on the last day.
The tracking details he provided were fake.
I have tried reaching the seller but no one picks the call.
Now i have claimed for a refund with ebay.
I had sent a mail to him that if he doesn't provide me proper tracking details, i'am going to give him a negative feedback. Then he told me that the product was hold at sales tax office.
He provided tracking details when the product was at sales tax office. We can clearly understand that he is trying to cheat.
@karthi try to raise a refund claim. Even my case was the same. I have raised a claim for refund today.
They will tell all sort of lies. If you leave strong negative feedback then only you will be heard and do not change rating even if they promise you moon.

Dude, you got the phone in 5 days. I don't understand why you had to call them 4 times in those many days. It's not like they took weeks.

We need to do something about this seller and most importantly Ebay for promoting such sellers and protecting them at the cost of unhappy buyers.

Some times it also takes some time like a day for shipment numbers to appear on the courier company website.
Well he gave me the shipment number on 4th July, It still says invalid.

Not all transactions of seller are negative, but he needs to communicate and publish the real state of products he is selling. You can not sell old stuff saying that it's new. Over last couple of months there are multiple negative feedback comments. Last month there are 38 negative and 33 neutral ratings 643 positive ratings, i.e. more than 10% of ratings are not positive.
Things like this happen more often in places like eBay where 3rd party sellers will be making up the deals.. one needs to be cautious while checking up the details and track record of the seller...

When will they send me the product.What if they don't send a replacement and enjoyed with my product.?
Put a negative feedback with strong comments. Only way they listen to and do not change feedback to positive till they deliver replacement. Don't make mistake that I made. They promised replacement of accessories on phone and email and I changed rating to positive. After that cheaters stopped responding to me.
Hey.. I am facing a fraud too from sankyoelectronics. I purchased Sony Xperia U from eBay India and the seller was sankyoelectronics. The listing when I brought the phone stated the phone has 1-year manufacturer warranty and I faced the screen issue too. The screen problem is covered under warranty however, my phone seems to be from some international grey market. Hence, I have to pay 6000/- to fix it. I sent an email to eBay and owner of sankyoelectronics however, he is not replying. I am planning to take him to consumer court coz thats a fraud to me. He stated the phone had 1-year manufacturer warranty and it isn't.
Kindly let me know if you files a case in consumer court against him.

dude... dont order one.. I got Xperia U in the month of June and the touch stopped working in September. He is a fraud guy. Doesnt pick up phone nor does he reply on emails.

Did anyone try to take him to consumer court? eBay definitely isnt working on their end stating its out of their 30-day policy. Seller isnt replying to emails nor he is picking up phone. And unfortunately I am unable to check my listing coz its over 90 days and didn't knew that listing gets archived after 90 days.
Kindly let me know if someone is willing to pull him to consumer court and we can win it coz most of the ppl here has complains against him.

samsung infuse i purchased from ebay is a old phone which is not new and seller refuse to swap that phone when i talk with him and now that phone was not in condition to use because of damaged of mother board in jst 5 months...now i dnt knw that wat i do with that phone...iput case in consumer court to swap my phone...wid a new phone with gurrentee...i beg to all purchaser that not to purchase anything from this all bad sites like ebay.in

As far as I think ebay.in is providing a great service.
However, there cant be 100% satisfied customers at any given time.
I had problems with at least 2 sellers in which case I escalated to ebay.in in regard to their 100% guarantee of money. On both the occasions I receives full refund within a short time.
If we follow proper instructions and guidelines as provided by ebay, there are very few chances of loosing any money.
